Arecas do two jobs better than any other palm we sell: instant tropical fullness, and privacy. A row of arecas at 4 feet on center grows into a dense 20-foot green wall that no fence can match — no flowers to clean up, no invasive roots, and a soft look that makes a lot line disappear.
The full size run is priced below, pickup and installed. For screening projects, the real question is size versus patience: 3-gallons are cheap but take three seasons to close; field-grown 8-footers are private the day we leave. Most customers land in the middle with 7- or 15-gallons.

Every price below is the full delivered-and-installed number — plant, delivery, planting labor, staking, watering-in, and cleanup. Pickup prices are for will-call at our Cape Coral nursery.

Delivery & install orders carry a $1,500 plant minimum (smaller quantities can be picked up at the nursery or bundled into a larger planting), and install labor has a $250 job minimum. Volume discounts start at 10 plants; landscape contractors get trade pricing.

Areca Palm Pricing & Planting FAQ
How far apart do you plant areca palms for privacy?+
Four feet on center is standard for 7-gallon and larger; tighter (3 feet) closes faster with smaller stock. A 60-foot lot line at 4-foot spacing needs about 15 plants.
How fast do arecas grow into a screen?+
Two to three feet a year with water and fertilizer. A 7-gallon row typically reads as real privacy in 18-24 months; 15-gallon rows in about a year; field-grown rows immediately.
Do areca palms have invasive roots?+
No — arecas are clumping palms with fibrous, non-invasive roots. They are safe along pool cages, fences, and property lines where a ficus hedge would be a liability.
How much maintenance does an areca hedge need?+
Trim out dead canes and seed pods once or twice a year and feed on a palm fertilizer schedule. Yellowing usually means hunger (magnesium/potassium), not disease, in our sandy soil.
