Most people start a yard project the same way: a handful of pictures saved off the internet, a rough budget, and three landscapers coming out to price it. The problem is that a picture has no dimensions. Nobody knows how long that bed is, how tall that raised planter sits, what it is built out of, or what size the plants go in at. So each company prices the version of it they pictured, and the three numbers that come back are not three prices for your project. They are three prices for three different projects.
A design fixes that before it costs you anything. We walk the property, measure it, and Blue Collar Q builds a photorealistic 3D render of your actual house on your actual lot, with the real plants at the size they will be planted. You get 2D prints behind the render with bed dimensions, square footages, plant counts and materials by name. That is the part any contractor can bid, so if you want two more numbers on the same scope, now you can get them honestly.
It also lets you build the yard you actually want instead of the yard that fits this month. Design the whole thing, then install it in phases: beds, palms and irrigation now, pavers and the outdoor living space later, lighting after that. Every phase was drawn as part of one finished plan, so nothing gets torn out later to make room for the next piece.

How pricing works
A design starts at $400 for a standard residential property in Cape Coral, Fort Myers and the surrounding cities, and the entire fee comes off your first invoice when you build the design with us. It works like a deposit, not a fee. Acreage lots, front and back done together, and plans with a pool area or a full outdoor living space take more design time and price above that, and you get the number before any drawing starts, so you always know it first. If you decide to build with another company, the design is still yours to keep and to hand to them.
Not every job needs one. A single scope gets a free written quote no matter how big it is: sod, mulch, a hedge line, palms, a plant delivery, a cleanup. The design is for a full yard renovation where several scopes come together and the details have to agree with each other, or for a large paver or outdoor living project where a small change on paper is a large change on the ground. If you already have a design or a plan set, send it over and we price what is drawn.

Why can you not just give me a price off my photos?+
Because a photo has no dimensions, no material selections and no plant sizes, so any number off it is a guess about a project we are picturing. The next company guesses differently and now you are comparing bids that were never for the same job. Once the yard is measured and drawn, every bid is for the same scope and the numbers mean something.
Is the design fee refundable?+
It is credited, which is better for you. Build the design with us and the entire fee comes off your first invoice. If you build with someone else, you keep the render and the prints.
Can I take the design to other contractors?+
Yes. You paid for it, so you own it. That is the point: with real dimensions and a plant schedule in hand you can put the same scope in front of two or three companies and finally compare prices instead of comparing guesses.
What if I cannot afford the whole plan right now?+
Then we phase it. Design the yard you actually want, then build it in stages in the order your budget allows. A partial budget this season still builds toward one finished yard instead of a patchwork of one-off jobs.
How long does a design take?+
Most designs come back within about a week of the walkthrough. Bigger full-yard projects can take a little longer while we confirm plant sizes and availability. Once you approve the design and the price, we schedule the install.
