Sod Installation in Cape Coral & SW Florida

New grass, laid tight and rolled, for $1 a square foot installed. Old lawn removal is $0.50 a square foot.

$1/SF installed, $0.50/SF removal

Licensed and insured. Blue Collar Q LLC. 30-day warranty on planted material. Owner-operated: you deal with Quinten.

A Cape Coral lawn dies in a lot of ways: chinch bugs chew out the sunny side of a St. Augustine yard in July, a summer of standing water rots the low corner, a new pool or seawall tears up half the back, or the builder laid Bahia and you want something that looks like a lawn. Whatever killed it, the fix is the same. Strip what is left, fix the grade, make sure the irrigation actually reaches every corner, and lay fresh sod tight enough that the seams disappear in three weeks.

Floratam St. Augustine is still the workhorse for full-sun Southwest Florida lawns and what most of our Cape Coral and Fort Myers customers choose. Empire Zoysia is the upgrade: finer blade, denser, handles foot traffic, and takes partial shade better. Bahia is the budget, low-water option for big Lehigh Acres and North Fort Myers lots without irrigation. We tell you which one fits your sun, your irrigation and your budget rather than selling whatever is on the truck.

Timing matters here. New sod wants water every day for the first week or two, so we install when your irrigation is working and your city watering days allow it, and we hand you the watering schedule in writing. Sod goes down the day it arrives from the farm, never off a pallet that sat in the sun.

What is included

Old grass removal

Sod cutter, haul-off and disposal at $0.50 per square foot when the existing lawn has to go.

Grade and prep

Rake smooth, fill low spots and knock down the high ones so water runs where it should.

Irrigation check

Heads run before we lay a piece. If a zone is dead we tell you before, not after.

Fresh farm sod

Floratam, Empire Zoysia or Bahia cut within a day of installation.

Tight seams and rolled

Staggered joints, edges cut clean to beds and hardscape, rolled for root contact.

Watering schedule in writing

Day by day for the first month so the new lawn actually roots.

How pricing works

Sod is $1 per square foot installed. That covers the grass, delivery, prep, laying, rolling and cleanup. If there is an old lawn to take out first, removal is $0.50 per square foot for the sod cutter, haul-off and dump. So a 2,000 SF backyard re-sod with removal is $3,000; a bare 2,000 SF lot after pool construction is $2,000. We measure the area, not the pallet count, so you are not paying for waste.

Grade problems, fill dirt, and irrigation repairs are quoted on top when the yard needs them and you approve the number before we start. Landscape contractors and property managers get the 10% trade discount. Request a quote with your rough square footage and whether the old grass is still there, and Quinten will text you a price.

Where we do sod installation

Sod Installation FAQ

How much does sod cost installed in Cape Coral?+

One dollar per square foot installed, plus fifty cents per square foot if we need to remove the existing grass first. A typical 2,000 square foot front yard with removal is $3,000 all in. Grade work or irrigation repairs, if needed, are quoted separately before we start.

Which sod is best for Southwest Florida?+

Floratam St. Augustine for full-sun lawns with irrigation, which is most of Cape Coral and Fort Myers. Empire Zoysia if you want a finer, denser lawn or have partial shade. Bahia for large lots without irrigation. We will tell you which fits your yard when we quote it.

How do I water new sod?+

Daily for the first seven to ten days, enough to keep the soil under the sod damp, then taper to every other day, then to your normal schedule by about week four. We give you the schedule in writing and confirm your irrigation reaches every corner before we lay it.

Do I need to remove the old grass?+

Almost always yes. Laying new sod over dead or thin grass leaves a spongy layer that keeps roots from reaching soil, and any chinch bugs or fungus in the old lawn come right through. Removal is $0.50 per square foot and includes haul-off.
