Most palm damage in Southwest Florida is done by the trimmer, not the wind. A queen or sabal palm that gets "hurricane cut" down to a few upright fronds is starved, stressed and more likely to snap in a storm, not less. A healthy palm needs only its dead and dying fronds, seed pods and old boots removed, with the green crown left full to the nine-and-three o'clock line. That is how we trim every palm, from a row of Christmas palms along a Cape Coral driveway to a forty foot royal in Fort Myers.
Shade trees get the same care. Live oaks, mahogany and black olive in Estero and Naples want a canopy lift so you can walk and mow under them, selective thinning so wind moves through instead of pushing on a solid sail, and removal of deadwood and crossing limbs before June. We do not top trees, we do not leave stubs, and every cut is made where the tree can close it.
Coconut palms get their nuts removed before they become a hazard over a pool deck or a car. Sabal palms get the boots and seed stalks cleaned. Foxtails and royals mostly self-clean and need only the occasional dead frond pulled. Some tree removals in Cape Coral and Lee County require a permit; we tell you before anything is cut. All debris leaves with us the same day.

How pricing works
Trimming is quoted per tree after we see it, in person or from photos with the address. Height, how long since it was last trimmed, how much has to come down, and access (over a pool cage, behind a seawall, under power lines) all change the number, so a blanket price would be either unfair to you or a guess. Send the address and what you want done and Quinten texts you a price per palm or tree.
Rows of palms and full-property cleanups price lower per tree than a single palm because the setup and haul-off are shared. If you are on a lawn maintenance plan, palm trimming can be scheduled with a regular visit. Property managers and landscape contractors get the 10% trade discount.

How often should palms be trimmed in Southwest Florida?+
Once or twice a year for most palms: a cleanup before hurricane season in late spring and, for heavy seeders like queens and sabals, another in fall. Royals and foxtails mostly shed on their own and only need the occasional dead frond removed.
Is a hurricane cut good for palms?+
No. Stripping a palm down to a few upright fronds removes the leaves it uses to feed itself and makes the crown weaker, not stronger. We remove only dead and dying fronds, seed pods and loose boots, and leave the green crown full to the nine and three o'clock line.
Do I need a permit to remove a tree in Cape Coral?+
Some removals do, depending on the species and size, and Lee County protects certain trees. We check before we quote a removal and handle the permit when one is needed. Trimming does not require a permit.
Do you take the debris?+
Always. Fronds, coconuts, limbs and hedge clippings are loaded and hauled the same day, and we blow off the driveway and walks before we leave. You will not have a pile at the curb waiting for a bulk pickup.
